Welcome to the 38 Squadron RAF website.

My father-in-law Mr. F.J.G.Askew served with 38 Squadron during World War II.
Born in Wallsend in the North East of England in 1919 Frank enlisted into the RAAFR in 1938.
Trained as an Air Gunner at Blackpool and then a posting to Marham, then Middle Wallop
Around 1939 Frank also trained as a wireless operator and became a WOP
Serving with 38 squadron saw Frank start his flying career in Wellington bombers, a magnificent aircraft designed by Barnes Wallace and a much respected piece of engineering!
